PAPER ANNIVERSARY: DAY 8

Greetings from the City of Big Shoulders as the wife and I wrap up the fun part of our anniversary trip (as opposed to the ass-numbing 15 hour drive back) with a visit to the incredibly friendly and informative Polish Museum of America, the incredibly lovely Chicago lakefront and the incredibly drunk and raucous Wiener's Circle hot dog stand, where all the drunkest people in Chi-Town apparently gather late on Friday and Saturday nights for red-hots and verbal abuse from the staff. Amy and I (and our gracious host Heidi) wound up amongst the Weiners last night after some dive-bar karaoke (as opposed to the LIVE-band karaoke we've been promised tonight) and an hour of most excellent comedy, drama and performance art at the Big Windy theatrical institution TOO MUCH LIGHT MAKES THE BABY GO BLIND. All this and WAIT, WAIT DON'T TELL ME with Mo Rocca, Dave Barry, some British chick and the delightful Roy Blount, Jr.

We like Chicago. It's deep dish, baby!
