Top Five Best Moments of the Provincetown Film Festival: (5) The Hat Sisters. (4) Gus Van Sant's awful new movie about Kurt Cobain finally ending. (3) The incredibly delicious Bloody Marys at a place on Commercial Street with a sign that says "Tavern Food" out front (but is probably called something else). (2) Drinks with the Polack, Bun, Rosalita and Miss Heidi at some swanky chandelier bar. And (1) offering John Waters a copy of Baron Von Doviak's book Hick Flicks, only to discover the Prince of Puke already owns a copy!

So, here's five reasons to see Lords of Dogtown -- (1): I never thought I'd say it, but I actually enjoyed the presence of Heath Ledger. (2): the big-pants teen mall rats in the theater with me actually applauded at the end, in hushed reverence. (3): The obvious PUKE homage where the angry blonde kid shaves his head while glowering into the mirror all punk-like. (4): A somewhat unnerving Rebecca Demornay performance. (5) Damn, that whole skateboarding around an empty pool thing sure looks like a helluva lotta fun.

EEEEEK!!! Pretty scaaaary, eh, kids? Yes, the work on ASSASSIN continues...ASSASSIN, of course, being the horror movie video project I've been working on with the youngsters of the Burt Wood School for the Performing Arts in Middleboro, MA, scheduled to premiere this summer after the Burt Wood Summer show (which I'm directing) followed by a second screening at the Herring Run Arts Fest in the Fall. Besides ASSASSIN, I've just finished up my first year of teaching and studenting at U-Mass, along with a slate of various classes, writing projects, wedding planning and season finales (go Woo!)...all of which is my way of explaining why I haven't actually updated this blog in weeks. But stay tuned for a big Baitshop update, coming soon!
